Veronica (Roni) Keeton is a native of the Bay Area, mother of three, and
the eldest member of the MEP staff. Roni began her career at Berkeley with MEP in 1983, two years after it's inception.
Understanding the need to increase the number of the underrepresented students in engineering, working at MEP has given Roni
the opportunity to help others. She has encouraged students to consider fields in engineering for over two decades and continues
to so today. Roni has assisted hundreds of students in College of Engineering during her career at Berkeley and has been
fortunate to see over a 1,000 MEP students receive degrees in Engineering.
Hundreds of students have benefitted from her years of experience advising Berkeley engineers. Among Roni's
many talents is her expertise in advising community college students in matters of transfer preparation and transition into
Berkeley's College of Engineering.
Roni says of her career at MEP, "the best part of my job is seeing students succeed and excel in their academic endeavors.
You can do this!"
