Graduate Degree Programs

About 10,000 graduate students are enrolled at UC Berkeley in over 105 degree programs. The most recent National Research Council survey ranked Berkeley as the best overall graduate institution in the nation. Among Berkeley’s distinguished faculty are 6 Nobel laureates, 132 members of the National Academy of Sciences, and 87 members of the National Academy of Engineering. Over the past two decades, Berkeley faculty also have been the recipients of 393 Guggenheim Fellowships.

The university's excellence attracts the finest student scholars as well. Since 1988, for example, Berkeley has attracted more recipients of National Science Foundation Fellowships than any other public institution. And over the past 10 years, Berkeley awarded more total doctoral degrees than any other university (NSF statistics).
